I am going straight to the point where I never would have thought that I’ll be starstruck to see a wax figure. I mean, given the idea that it’s the almost perfect measurement of a famous person, never in my whole life that I see myself going inside something like Madamme Tussaud’s because of the 2005 film House of Wax. Dude, that movie gave me countless nightmares when I was a kid! I can totally say that it got me traumatized on so many emotional levels. But you got to face your fears right? So I went here anyway.
Uhm, disclaimer: this is not a sponsored blog, clearly because I don’t do that (yet or idk) so if I mentioned places or stuff that sounds like as if I’m plugging it then that’s just organic promotion and it’s because I totally enjoyed it and I paid it all myself.
History of Madame Tussaud’s
Before it became the most notable and famous wax museum in the world, the woman behind it all started back in 1761 in Strasbourg in France where she, Anna Maria “Marie” Tussaud, was born. Her mother worked for Curtius who was a physician and skilled in wax modeling who then thought the young Marie the art of wax modeling. Apparently, years later, Marie worked for Curtius as an artist. In 1777, she created her first wax figure which is Voltaire. She suddenly became famous earning the recognition of the French Royal Family. It is said that they were so pleased with her artworks that she was invited to live at Versailles for a period of 9 years, although no contemporary evidence to confirm this.
During the French revolution, she was imprisoned for 3 months awaiting execution, but she was released by the help of an influential friend and other famous people she modeled. For the next 33 years, she traveled across Europe touring her collection and naming her show Madame Tussaud’s. She then traveled throughout Great Britain and Ireland to exhibit her collection. From 1831, she decided to take short leases on the upper floor of Baker Street Bazaar and this became her first permanent home in 1836.
Getting to Madame Tussaud’s in Singapore
Since I personally think that Singapore’s transit system is the best in the world, you can download gothere.sg App and find your way to go to VivoCity Shopping Mall. On the 3rd level of the mall, take the Sentosa Express monorail going to Sentosa Island and alight at Imbiah Station. Just follow the sign and after 3 flights of the escalator going to Imbiah Lookout Park, you will see the red carpet of Madame Tussaud’s Singapore.
Getting a ticket
You can always go straight to Madame Tussaud’s and buy the tickets upfront but if you want to skip the line on a touristy day then you might as well get your tickets with Klook. It’s easy and convenient and probably the best part is you get discounts and its a LOT cheaper than the regular priced tickets.
Inside the wax museum
When you go inside Madame Tussaud’s Singapore, your first stop will be a tiny little port where you will be asked to ride a boat en route to a not more than 5-minute boat ride.It was pretty spooky for me though because it was dark all over the place and sure, the nightmares from House of Wax film was still in my system then.
After that, you’re now ready to meet your favorite famous icons and Hollywood celebrities! I will just put all the photos down below that I took while I was inside Madame Tussaud’s. Here are they:
Here’s a photo of me annoying the hell out of David Beckham while he’s working out, hugging the not so pleased Cristiano Ronaldo (I’m just the same height with Daniel Radcliffe and idk if Cristiano is really that tall but his wax figure is!) and the Johnny Depp! Ahhhhh I felt like Winona Ryder!
That was my meeting with her Majesty the Queen, marking my hands with Marilyn Monroe’s at Gruman’s Chinese Theater, and of course, breakfast with Audrey Hepburn.
Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Beyonce.
And sure, it was always a good time hanging out with my mateys Liam, Zayn, Niall, Harry, and my fellow Christmas Baby Louis.
CONCLUSION
While it’s funny that these are just wax figures, I just want to say that the hard work of the artist on making these masterpieces will never go unnoticed! Thank you for giving me the cha to meet Elvis, Marilyn, and Audrey! The 60s fanboy in me is so grateful and happy.
Also, there are many other iconic wax figures inside the museum â these are just my favorites!

Ah, this one! I saw the wax model of Vin Diesel near the now-demolished Sentosa Merlion when I visited last year. Didn’t really got myself to visit as the tickets were expensive (just like how I avoided Universal because of the pricey entrance fee.)
