I am Marron Santillan from the Philippines. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management specialized in Cruise Line Operations in Hotel Services from Lyceum of the Philippines University Manila. But that’s not important anymore. I was supposed to get a job on a cruise ship and travel the world right after my graduation but I thought I wasn’t courageous enough to make that decision just yet.
So I turned down that dream and decided to first explore the beauty of the Philippines for me to learn, find different types of people, find super spontaneous adventures, discover beautiful islands, find love if I’m lucky, but most importantly, to find me. Right now, I am working as a Barista in Quezon City. I have a strong passion about adventures, places and people. I’m into D.I.Y. backpacked cheap travels with friends/soon to be friends.
I am pretty much everything you want me to be but please know that I like reading self-help books and I love watching feel good movie on a lazy after-lunch. I like volunteering, too! I am pro-nature, so it means I am not a big fan of single-use plastics and I try my hardest to eliminate them from my everyday life.
Upon growing up, I wasn’t able to become a big fan of any sport. But I always wanted to be athletic so September of 2018, I began doing obstacle course racing by joining the Spartan Race. I am now part of Spartan 2019 Trifecta Tribe (Aroo!!), I also love long distance running. I have ran a full marathon under my belt and it might be wasn’t much, but it really meant something to me.
I love coffee. I have a next level love for it. I studied so hard until I became the District Coffee Master of a big coffee company here in the Philippines. I’m into beers as well! But not as an enthusiast. If you handed me a bottle of beer anytime of the day, most likely I’d accept it and crave for another bottle. I’m not a big foodie! But I am learning how to enjoy food already.
If you want to join me on one of my journeys, or make a collaboration, or need a volunteer, feel free to contact me. I’d be happy to help!
